On Sunday morning, a fire broke out in the old restaurant at the Val-des-Près entrance. At 7:37 a.m., firefighters received the alert. Rescuers from Briançon, Montgenèvre, Val-des-Près, and Argentière-la-Bessée were dispatched. At the foot of the Col de Montgenèvre, along the national 94, more than thirty people went there.
The 200 m2 structure was completely destroyed by fire and collapsed. By noon, firefighters had brought the blaze under control and cleared the area.
